 The Promotions Ambassador will interface with the public both onsite and offsite, to actively promote and engage potential visitors with the ROM’s collections and special exhibitions and encourage visitation and membership. Promotions Ambassadors deliver guided experiences to Promotions and Tourism clients and ROM Members providing a welcoming experience for visitors of all ages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Energetically executes and delivers on-site and offsite promotional experiences to potential visitors. Has the ability to speak knowledgably about the Museum’s key exhibitions and programs, with particular emphasis on the key “engagement” points as determined by the Marketing & Promotions department. Engages with the public in a positive, friendly manner while actively promoting the ROM’s content to build awareness, encourage word of mouth endorsement, and drive attendance. Distributes museum collateral as needed.
  • Delivers guided experiences to Promotions and Tourism clients and ROM Members providing a welcoming experience for visitors of all ages.
  • Set up and take down of signage, activity stations, promotional booths and other materials as required.
  • Performs related promotional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of less than two (2) years of post-secondary training/ education in a marketing, education, or Museum-related discipline.
  • Completion of less than two (2) years of post-secondary training/education in a marketing, education, or Museum-related discipline.
  • A minimum of one (1) year but less than two (2) years experience working with adults and/or children as a Brand Ambassador/Field Representative.
  • Experience in storytelling and / or delivering engaging presentations to an audience. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Energetic, dynamic, and outgoing.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Autonomous and rigorous in executions, with the ability to set up and take down promotional booths, activity stations and signage.
  • Respectful of scheduling and professional commitments.
  • Able to work independently as well as successfully in a team environment.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including within and outside regular museum hours.
  • Bilingual French/English language skills are an asset.

SALARY: $23.64 – $27.01 per hour

SCHEDULE: Up to 24 hours a week

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 420 hours or 6 months, whichever occurs sooner (performance based only)
